Upcoming Activities / Announcements
  • Holy Family Building Dedication and Reception - on September 19th we will dedicate the new Religious Education center after the noon Mass.. Please see the bulletin for registration forms and more information.
  • Scout Day at the Mount 2010 - This activity is open to all Boy Scouts, Male Venturers and leaders.  Boy Scouts working on Ad Altare Dei will have an opportunity to complete most of the requirements for the Holy Orders chapter; however, the invitation to attend is open to all Boy Scouts and male Venturers. Those who have participated in the past are more than welcome to join us again. A flyer and permission form are available.
  • The journey of RCIA begins again - Are you or someone you know interested in learning more about the Catholic faith? If so, the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation) may be helpful. This journey into the faith explores what it is to be Christian and Catholic. Sessions will be held on Wednesday evenings.   • Blogger Priest - In addition to the parish webpage, Father Joe is inviting parishioners to regularly visit his Blog at bloggerpriest.wordpress.com. There you will find religious instruction and answers to questions as well as information and photos regarding the parish and our activities.
  • Childrens Mass is held on the 4th Sunday of each month at 9:30 am.
  • Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is held each month on the first Saturday.
  • If you know of parishoners who are seriously ill or because of age and other issues cannot make it to weekly Mass, please contact the rectory immediately. Our priest and various extraordinary ministers are ready and willing to visit and to bring Holy Communion to those who need the sacrament.
 
For Youth
  • Changes and New Additions to PREP - We now have SPRED (Religious Education for children with Special Needs), PREP I for children in preschool through 8th grade, PREP II for students in grades 7-12 who are in need of Sacramental Preparation, and HSPREP for the High School Program. Class days and times for each of these programs are as follows:
    • SPRED – 1st, 2nd and 3rd Sundays from 9:25 am to the end of 9:30 am Mass
    • PREP I - 1st, 2nd and 3rd Sundays from 10:40 – 11:50 am
    • PREP II - 1st, 2nd and 3rd Wednesdays from 6:30 – 8:00 pm (includes Mass)
    • HSPREP - 1st, 2nd and 3rd Wednesdays from 6:30 – 8:00 pm (Mass optional)
  • Registration for all Religious Education Classes will be mailed to families that were previously registered for the 2009-2010 program year. They are due back by September 1st. The fees remain the same as last year, $70 for one student, $80 for 2 students and $90 for 3 or more students.
  • 2nd Year Confirmation Candidate and Parent meeting will be held on Sunday, September 12th at 12:15 PM. The candidate and at least one parent are expected to attend this meeting. Candidates are asked to bring their Confirmation Binders to this meeting.
  • Sacramental Preparation (PREP II) for youth in grades 7-12 will be held on Wednesday evenings. This program is for youth who are in need of receiving some and/or all of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation). Classes will meet from 6:30 - 8:00 PM on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Wednesday nights of each month and includes Mass attendance.
  • Altar Server Training – Those youth currently serving as Altar Servers and those youth that are interested in joining the ministry should plan to attend this training session on Friday, September 17th. We will begin with a pizza dinner in the hall at 6:30 pm and then go into the church at 7:00 pm for training. Training will conclude at 8:00 pm.
  • Volunteers are needed for our PREP program - we are in need of catechists and aides for the next program year. Adults and teens interested in helping should contact Pam at 301.218.1167.
  • Youth Group meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month from 7-9:00 pm. Guests are always welcome.
